U15's  - Season 2006/07

Well ladies, gents and to all players, we have finally come to the end of another playing season, which undoubtedly has seen some highs and lows for most of you? However I do hope that overall, the season has been an enjoyable experience and you will be back for more of the same next season?

For those of you who decide to try pastures new, I send you my best wishes and good luck for whatever you choose to take up after the footy?

U16's News - Season 2007/08

For those of you that just cant keep away, listed below is some of the information you will need and some basic guidelines to smooth the way into your last playing season under the CWYFL banner!

Q1. What division will my team be playing in next season?

A1. The top two teams from each respective division (excluding Premier division) will automatically be promoted to the next highest division. Dependant on numbers entering the age group next season will determine the remaining divisions. (Please note: the Premier division will only consist of 9 teams for next season. Explanation given below?) The Division's will not be officially confirmed until after the August CWYFL managers meeting.

Q2. I am told we have to enter a competition organised by our mother county?

A2. At U16's level, each County FA organise their own cup competition and it is mandatory for each team to enter, however if a club has more than one entrant in the age group, then only one team will be entered, unless each team affiliate with different team names. (i.e. Knowle F.C. & Knowle Lions)  This extra cup will obviously impact on the CWYFL league and cup fixtures, therefore the need to reduce the Premier division should become apparent? As a rule, the Premier team's usually fair better in cup competitions than their lower division counterparts, thus a reduction in the size of the division is inevitable to try to ensure all league and cup games are played?

The competition is spread across the constituency that your mother county covers and can include up to over 130 teams. Unfortunately as the rules stand at the moment, you will not be able to apply for a cancellation of a County cup match unless it can be proven, that the majority of your registered players are on a school trip! Also, when a game in the competition is scheduled and subsequently postponed, the next available Sunday will be used to re-schedule the match regardless of whether the CWYFL have given you a scheduled fixture. (Full explanation can be given by contacting me)

Q3. Can you explain how the players registration process works next season?

A3. Please note: All players will become free agents from June 01st - June 30th and can be approached by any team/club looking to arrange to sign them for the following season (2007/08) however no player can sign for anyone until 01st July, including his current team/club.

Each registered player from U15's (2006/07) was provided with a passport registration booklet which shall stay with them throughout their time in the CWYFL. All of the ODD numbered age groups (7's, 9's, 11,s etc) will need to complete the original white registration ID cards and provide two identical photographs, which will be affixed to; 1. ID card - 2: ID Passport

All the EVEN numbered age groups (8's, 10's 12's including U16's) will not have to supply new photographs! The photographs supplied at the odd numbered age group will suffice and shall last for two seasons. Therefore the photographs supplied in the players passports at U15's will also be used for the U16's age group. The passports will need to have the player identity detail section completed, by filling in the Club name, Players signature and Age group using the greyed out area at the bottom of the booklet page.

The U16's age group have been supplied with new A5 re-registration notice ID cards, the information on these cards shall be completed and sent with the corresponding passport booklet to me from July 01st. When the re-registration(s) have been authorised and recorded, the passport booklets can be collected or returned via post (please enclose adequate cost of postage stamps) The A5 re-registration notice will be affixed to the corresponding registration from U15's that are held by me.

If a player previously played for another team, then you or the player will need to obtain his passport from that team and complete the above process. If the previous team do not have the player's passport, please check to see if it has been returned to me?

If you do not intend to re-sign any of your players and they are not going to join another team, ensure the passport booklets are returned to me! If any un-registered player booklets are not returned to me and the player subsequently wishes to re-register during the season and the booklets are lost or mislaid, then the last team the player played for, will be responsible for paying for a replacement. (Cost £5.00)

If you were supplied with your full allocation of 20 passport booklets last season and require any additional, then you will be required to purchase them at £5.00 each. (I have a record of team's who have had their full entitlement of booklets)

Q4. When will the season start?

A4. With the introduction of the County cup competition's, I would like to start the season on Sunday 02nd September, however will only issue fixtures to team's, who advise me they want to start on this date, otherwise a full program of fixtures will come into force on Sunday 09th September. (Please let me know your preference for starting the season early?)

Q5. Will you be holding a manager's meeting before the season starts?

A5. A meeting will be arranged for all U16's manager's or a representative from your club. Date and venue to be confirmed? (Please check the website for details)

If you have any more questions or queries, feel free to e-mail me and I will add them to this page.

Have a well earned rest and I look forward to working with you all again next season!
